The Einhell TE-MD 80 digital cable detector is suitable for both DIYers and professional craftsmen who carry out interior or exterior construction work. The instrument can reliably check whether there are ferrous or non-ferrous metals, wood or live wires in walls, ceilings or floors. The detection results are indicated by an acoustic signal together with an LCD display and a light indicator. If the light ring around the centering hole is green, there is no obstruction in the wall and the location can be marked as safe through the marking hole. In the case of orange, the detector approaches the object in the wall, while red indicates that the centering hole is directly above the detected object, for example a metal profile. The detector's operating mode can be set simply using the push-button control, and there is also an automatic calibration function to ensure maximum detection accuracy. The TE-MD 80 is powered by one 9V block battery (not included).

The Einhell TE-MD 80 cable detector can reliably locate metal objects and wires in walls, thus ensuring greater safety against drilling or other construction interventions in walls. This feature is particularly useful for plumbers and craftsmen when carrying out renovation work, when assembling the lockers, kitchen units, sinks, boilers, heating systems, air conditioning, etc. Ferrous metals such as steel can be detected to a depth of 80 mm, live cables up to 60 mm, non-ferrous metals (copper) up to 38 mm and wood up to 24 mm.
Easy-to-use detector in a compact design
The device has a compact design with a wrist strap and a soft soft grip surface, allowing it to be operated comfortably with one hand. Measurements are made easy with the easy-to-read LCD display, which shows the exact distance of the centering hole from the material found in the wall. You can immediately mark the desired drilling location with a pencil via the handy marking hole directly on the wall. The wall is protected from damage by a protective slider located on the back of the detector. You'll also appreciate the built-in automatic shut-off function after one minute of inactivity.
