DSD

The DSD format was developed by Phillips and Sony for their music players. Compared to the similar PCM format, DSD has a much higher sampling rate when converting from analogue to digital. Initially, it seemed unlikely that the DSD format would gain mainstream acceptance. However, in recent years and especially with the expansion of streaming services, its influence has been growing steadily.
