I'm perfectly happy. The device is truly plug and play. I need to transfer data between external drives and the front panel of the PC often had problems with sufficient power. I purchased this hub + USB extension cable and plugged it into the motherboard and brought the hub out from under the desk behind the monitor. It works exactly as I imagined. Note that the power supply is via microUSB and not USB-C. I did not notice this fact when I bought it. However, I had several unused microUSB cables at home anyway, so at least one got used.
