I was excited about the device for an hour before I tried to update the FW. The update was performed, but no longer an automatic restart. It stayed broken in some bootloader and I don't have this experience alone according to the net. Solved for a week with Plaud support and then solved with an Alsa swap. Otherwise great, would like to continue development for already purchased devices and increase the volume of minutes.

I bought it for the mobile recording and the ability to download recordings via USB (I don't want to store recordings in the cloud or use cloud transcription). When the app was first launched, new firmware v2.1 was installed, which purposely blocked access to recordings via USB (ostensibly due to GDPR, but probably more likely to increase pressure to use the paid cloud service). Without USB the device is completely unusable for me, returned to the shop. The rating is from the perspective of my usage mode, for users accepting cloud storage these limitations might not be a serious issue.

If you don't want to store the recordings in the cloud, the device will become unusable after the update.

Great product, I wouldn't be afraid to buy it if you don't want to record a larger conference. It's a shame that you can't connect multiple plaud devices, place them around the room and set them to merge the audio and do just one transcript - this would be ideal for conferences in a large room. The recording quality in general could be a bit better, but for how tiny it is, it's fine. It handles transcription significantly better than, for example, Word, which also has this feature. The summary feature is absolutely amazing and will completely replace your transcript. The free plan may be enough for some, as it allows 300 minutes of transcription. Another advantage is the ability to generate transcripts and summaries from any file, so it is not necessary to use only Plaud.
