I bought the mouse so that I could use the nine side buttons for macros in graphics programs. The problem is that the whole sidebar "clicks", i.e. if I grip the mouse, and I don't even have to do it very hard, it clicks several side buttons without touching them. Because of this, I can only use 4 of the 9 side buttons because I have to set most of them to do nothing when clicked. Compared to the previous Trust GXT970 mouse, the side buttons are not well made. Some of them don't click, they just retract flexibly. Their sensitivity is high, so even placing a finger on them can trigger them. This was not a problem with my previous Trust GXT970 mouse. Too bad the GXT970 is no longer sold on Alza, otherwise I would get it again.

If you are buying this to be used out of the box with no setup, expecting to use the 1-9 side buttons to actually be 1-9, this is not the case. You need to download their software (which was incredibly difficult to find, it should be linked to the page you buy the mouse on and I didn't find it there. I had to search for Rapture in the Alza search bar above and find it that way). In the software - you need to set each button individually using the "Key Combination" option. In my opinion, the buttons should automatically be programmed to each number they are labeled with. If someone wants to have these other keystrokes programmed (ie, the "6" and "9" buttons function as "back" and "foward" in the browser, as it is out of the box), these should be setup manually by the user. But the average person, seeing "6" on the button should press it and get a 6. Very, very confusing product. But once you figure this out and set it up, it functions quite well.
