Sony Alpha A7R III features a 42.4MP Exmor R CMOS sensor with enhanced image processing
The Sony Alpha A7R III digital camera uses a gapless on-chip lens design and a back-illuminated Exmor R sensor to enhance light sensitivity. Therefore, the Sony Alpha A7R III achieves a higher dynamic range despite its high resolution of 42.4 MP. Enhanced image processing is powered by LSI technology and faster BIONZ X processing speeds. This means you'll get a dynamic range of up to 15 stops at low ISO for still images. The Sony Alpha A7R III digital camera has had its ISO sensitivity range expanded to 100-32000, with noise reduced by a full step in the middle of the sensitivity range. For your convenience, the camera is equipped with a twice as bright high-resolution electronic viewfinder.
More realistic photos and videos
High-resolution mirrorless camera
With the Sony Alpha A7R III, you'll capture stunning 4K videos and photos, with up to 5K (15MP) resolution via oversampling. The digital mirrorless camera uses the new HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) image profile with support for instant HDR processing. This gives images and videos a wide dynamic range without colour gradation.
The Sony Alpha A7R III can shoot continuously at 10 fps. /s
Don't miss a shot. Sony's digital mirrorless camera can shoot continuously at up to 10 fps. /s in AF/AE tracking mode. Thanks to the 42.4MP resolution, the image quality will be fully preserved. In addition, continuous shooting is completely silent, so you can safely shoot wildlife, for example, where even the slightest noise could spook your subject.
Camera with reliable autofocus
Advanced algorithms can provide autofocus up to EV-3 brightness level. That's why you can rely on the mirrorless camera even for autofocusing dark scenes.
Flexible image processing
The Sony Alpha A7R III features an S-Log setting to ensure flexible image processing in post-production. Through HLG, the camera provides instant HDR processing.
Pixel Shift Multi Shooting
The Sony Alpha A7R III digital camera captures still images full of realistic detail, texture and colour to capture the overall atmosphere. This is helped by the new Pixel Shift Multi Shooting feature.
Sony camera with faster AF and improved image stabilisation
Sony Alpha A7R III has faster AF
Sony took inspiration from the A9 when using autofocus. Once the Sony Alpha A7R III captures moving wildlife, it won't let it out of its sight. The mirrorless camera has a more sensitive and improved Fast Hybrid AF, with autofocus speeds that are approximately twice as fast even in low-light conditions.
Better autofocus even in adverse conditions
The digital mirrorless camera has 399 phase-detection autofocus points that cover approximately 68% of the image width and height. 425 densely spaced autofocus points take care of contrast detection. Enhanced AF can better focus on your chosen subject even in adverse conditions. The Sony Alpha A7R III can also handle complicated or sudden movement thanks to continuous autofocus.

More Specifications
Sony Corporation is a Japanese company founded in 1946. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo. Its beginnings were humble. The first product sold under the Sony brand was a transistor radio. It was those radios that played a pivotal role in the company's expansion in the 1960s and the world quickly began to associate Sony products with a reliably stellar price-performance ratio.
In the 1970s, Sony was severely affected by the global economic crisis. Many analysts considered the company effectively defunct and could see no future for it. However, they underestimated the famous Japanese perseverance and courage. The crisis was not a disaster for Sony; on the contrary, it served as a launching pad to even greater heights. The company recovered and soon changed the media landscape with the development of the CD and later the DVD. In the early 1990s, Sony achieved another major success with the introduction of the PlayStation gaming console. It is the gaming consoles that best represent the intersection of the three key areas in which the company operates today – electronics, video games, and the entertainment industry.
