The ASUS PRIME Radeon RX 9070 O16G graphics card delivers the power of the AMD RDNA 4.0 architecture in a compact 2.5-slot design. The card is equipped with 16GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit bus and supports both DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b. Cooling is handled by three Axial-tech fans with dual ball bearings and an enhanced phase-change GPU thermal pad. It also includes a Dual BIOS function for switching between Performance and Quiet modes.
The card uses three Axial-tech fans with longer blades and a smaller hub, which work with a barrier ring to force air downwards for more effective heat dissipation. 0dB technology stops all fans at temperatures below 55°C, enabling quiet operation during less demanding tasks. The fans restart at temperatures above 60°C with a speed that balances performance and noise. The dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as conventional sleeve bearings.
The phase-change GPU thermal pad melts during operation and fills the gaps between the GPU and the cooling module, ensuring excellent thermal conductivity. MaxContact technology increases the contact area of the heat spreader over the GPU by 5% compared to traditional methods, reducing temperatures by up to 2°C. The rear backplate with large vents significantly improves heat dissipation and helps prevent overheating and thermal throttling.
The printed circuit board is reinforced with an aluminium backplate, which adds structural rigidity to the card and protects components from damage. ASUS GPU Guard uses an adhesive to secure all four corners of the GPU to reduce the risk of cracks. A GPU bracket helps ensure uniform mounting pressure and stability. The mounting bracket is made from 304-grade stainless steel, chosen for its strength and high resistance to corrosion.
The Dual BIOS function lets you switch between Performance mode, where the fans spin at maximum speed to ensure the lowest temperatures, and Quiet mode, which uses a less aggressive fan curve for quieter operation. ASUS Auto-Extreme technology completes all soldering in a single pass, which reduces thermal stress on components. No harsh cleaning chemicals are used in the manufacturing process, and less energy is consumed.
The ASUS GPU Tweak III utility takes graphics card tuning to the next level. It allows you to adjust critical parameters, including GPU core clocks, memory frequency, and voltage settings, with the option to monitor everything in real time via a customisable on-screen display. It also includes advanced fan control and many other features to help you get the most out of your graphics card. The latest AMD Software unleashes the full potential of your graphics with day-0 drivers that are highly customisable and optimised for new games.
