The AXAGON ADR-305 5-metre active extension USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable is the ideal companion for connecting a computer to a USB device such as a mouse, keyboard, webcam, printer, scanner, plotter, and more. The active USB repeater cable amplifies the signal passing through it, enabling you to connect a USB device at a significantly greater distance than a passive cable allows. If needed, you can connect several cables in a series to extend its reach even further. Thanks to the USB 3.2 Gen 1 (formerly USB 3.0) interface, you can enjoy data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps. This makes the cable suitable for devices that require higher speeds, such as backup systems, NAS data storage, and others.
A major advantage of the ADR-305 cable is its integrated auxiliary power connector. In most cases, power from the USB bus is sufficient. However, for devices with higher power consumption over longer distances, the USB power may be inadequate. In these situations, auxiliary power from the mains can solve the problem.
The repeater cable’s exceptionally compact body allows for hassle-free use in electrical conduits or cable management systems. The high-quality shielded cable ensures high-speed communication and minimal unwanted interference.

Power supply:
- The cable and connected devices are powered via the USB bus (bus-power mode 5V - 500mA).
- For most connected USB devices, power from the USB bus is sufficient, and no additional power is needed.
- The active part of the cable includes a Micro USB connector for additional external power of 5V/1–2A.
- A 1.2m USB A-M / Micro USB power cable is included in the package. The cable enables powering from a standard mobile phone charger with a USB-A output of 5V / min. 1A, e.g., AXAGON ACU-DS16.
- When the repeater cable is powered by a power adapter, an external 2.5" drive can also be connected without needing its own power supply.
- For longer USB runs with several repeater cables connected in series, the USB bus power may be insufficient even for USB devices with lower power consumption than an external 2.5" drive. In this case, boosting the power by connecting a power adapter can also help.
