D-Link DAP-2662

D-Link DAP-2662
The D-Link DAP-2662 indoor WiFi access point provides wireless connectivity using the 802.11ac Wave 2 (WiFi 5) standard. This dual-band WiFi access point operates concurrently on the 2.4GHz (300Mbps) and 5GHz (867Mbps) bands, offering a combined transfer speed of up to 1200Mbps. It efficiently serves a large number of connected devices and directs the signal using a combination of 2×2 MU-MIMO and Beamforming technologies, supported by four internal antennas. Power over Ethernet (PoE) simplifies installation, and the device is fully managed via the free Nuclias Connect software. It also meets the requirements of the WiFi4EU project.
Key features of the D-Link DAP-2662 WiFi access point
- Uses MU-MIMO and Beamforming technologies to efficiently serve multiple clients
- Supports L2 roaming (802.11k/r) for seamless handover between access points
- Managed via Nuclias Connect software, web interface or command line
- Powered by a single cable thanks to PoE support (802.3af/802.3at)
- Includes one Gigabit Ethernet LAN port for connectivity
- Enables user segmentation with support for up to 16 separate SSIDs
Wi-Fi connectivity and connection options
The access point uses the Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac Wave 2) standard and operates on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. On the 5GHz band, the transfer speed reaches 867Mbps, while the 2.4GHz band offers 300Mbps. 2×2 MU-MIMO and Beamforming technologies direct the signal to clients and increase network throughput. Four internal antennas ensure reliable coverage. For connecting to the backbone network, it includes a single Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, which also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) according to the 802.3af/802.3at standard.
Mesh, coverage and advanced security options
The device supports L2 roaming according to 802.11k/r standards, which ensures clients can transition seamlessly between access points without interruption. The band steering feature automatically moves connected devices to the faster 5GHz band. Support for up to 16 SSIDs allows you to segment users into separate networks, for example for guests and employees. The QoS function prioritises delay-sensitive data traffic. The wireless network is protected by WPA2-Enterprise and WPA2-PSK encryption standards. The access point also offers MAC address filtering, Wi-Fi client isolation and a built-in firewall. VLAN support segments the network into logical units, increasing both security and clarity. An external or internal RADIUS server can be used for central user authentication.
Management and modes of the D-Link DAP-2662 WiFi access point
The device operates in several modes: access point (AP), wireless client, WDS bridge, or WDS with AP. The free Nuclias Connect software provides centralised management for up to 1000 access points from a single location. A web interface, command line interface (CLI), Telnet, and SSH are also available for detailed configuration. A wall or ceiling mounting bracket is included in the package.
