The Eaton 5E 1600 USB FR Gen2 UPS uses Line-interactive topology to provide reliable protection for your sensitive electronics. With a power rating of 1600VA (900W), it can handle workstations, small servers or network components. Thanks to this technology and its integrated automatic voltage regulation (AVR), it corrects mains fluctuations without switching to battery power, saving its life for a complete outage. It reaches 95% efficiency at full load. This Line-interactive UPS protects connected devices not only from outages, but also from undervoltage, overvoltage and voltage spikes. The compact tower design makes it easy to place in an office or home working environment where it won't take up much space.

Topology and power

The Line-interactive technology ensures a smooth transition to battery power while stabilising the mains voltage. The UPS provides an apparent power of 1600VA and a real power of 900W. The automatic voltage regulation (AVR) function corrects input voltage deviations without switching to the battery, which protects sensitive electronics and saves the capacity of the internal batteries for a complete power failure. Efficiency at full load is 95%. Inside, it contains two sealed lead-acid batteries (2× 12V / 7Ah). Integrated protection against deep discharge contributes to a longer battery life. The cold start function starts the UPS directly from the battery, providing power even without an AC input. The safety of connected devices is ensured by surge protection and an automatic shutdown function.

Connectivity and sockets

Input connection is handled by a fixed cable with a Schuko plug. To power connected devices, it offers four French standard (Type E) output sockets. A key feature is that all four sockets provide both battery backup and surge protection. This means the user does not have to distinguish between critical and less important appliances. All connected devices receive full protection against fluctuations in the electrical grid and during a complete power outage. A USB port handles the connection to a computer, and thanks to the HID standard, it works without needing to install drivers on most operating systems. The included Eaton UPS Companion software lets you monitor energy consumption and configure detailed settings for the UPS. It also manages the safe shutdown of the system during a prolonged power cut.
