EATON UPS 5PX 1500i RT2U Netpack Gen2

EATON UPS 5PX 1500i RT2U Netpack Gen2
The Eaton UPS 5PX 1500i RT2U with Netpack Gen2 backup power supply uses line-interactive topology and, thanks to its unity power factor, delivers an apparent power of 1500VA equal to a real power of 1500W. At full load, it operates with 98% efficiency and keeps connected devices running for 14 minutes. This rack-mounted Eaton 1500VA UPS, with Energy Star 2.0 certification, reduces both energy consumption and cooling costs. In battery mode, it provides a pure sine wave output, which is essential for the reliable operation of sensitive equipment such as servers with active PFC power supplies. Its design is ideal for powering servers, network components and data storage in IT environments.
Key features of the Eaton UPS 5PX 1500i RT2U with Netpack Gen2 backup power supply
- Line-interactive topology stabilises output voltage without using the battery
- Unity power factor delivers full power
- Includes a Gigabit network card with cybersecurity certification
- Eaton ABM battery management technology extends battery life by up to 50%
- Hot-swappable batteries simplify maintenance
- Connect up to four external battery modules for longer backup time
- Socket segment control with energy consumption metering
Advanced battery management and lifespan
Inside the backup power supply are four maintenance-free lead-acid batteries (4× 12V / 9Ah) which are hot-swappable, meaning they can be replaced without interrupting power to connected devices. Eaton ABM technology extends battery life by up to 50% using three-stage charging and automatic tests. You can further extend the backup time by connecting up to four external battery modules, which the system automatically recognises upon connection.
Flexible design and intuitive control of the Eaton UPS 5PX 1500i RT2U
The versatile 2U design allows for flexible installation in a data rack or as a standalone tower. All operational data and settings are shown on a clear graphical LCD, which communicates in seven languages and simplifies configuration and initial setup without needing to connect to a computer. The display provides at-a-glance information about the UPS status and measured values.
Connectivity and sockets of the backup power supply
The Eaton 5PX 1500i backup power supply offers a total of ten output sockets, eight of which are IEC C13 and two are IEC C16. The sockets are divided into two independently controllable groups that also measure energy consumption. This feature helps prioritise the shutdown of less important devices to extend backup time for critical infrastructure. Load segment management is handled via the LCD screen. For management and monitoring, the backup power supply uses USB and RS-232 ports. A Gigabit network card with dual cybersecurity certification (UL 2900-1 and IEC 62443-4-2) supports remote management, configuration, and firmware updates. The integrated network card with advanced security is ready for deployment in corporate networks. Terminals for remote power off (RPO/ROO) and potential-free contacts for integration into control systems are also available.
