GeForce GTX 1080
NVIDIA's flagship delivers unprecedented graphical performance, now in 4K resolution.
16 nm chip
The new Pascal GP104 chip, consisting of 7.2 billion transistors, runs at a considerably higher frequency compared to previous generations.
VR support
The card calculates multiple views of the same scene simultaneously, helping to achieve fantastic results in virtual reality applications.
Groundbreaking modern platform
The Pascal GP104 graphics chip features 2560 CUDA cores, accompanied by 160 texture units. The chip is clocked at 1607 MHz, though it reaches an impressive 1733 MHz with Boost Mode.
Virtual reality has never been so close
The GeForce GTX 1080 is expected to advance virtual reality rather significantly, also thanks to its completely new GDDR5X memory. A new manufacturing process enables it to reach faster throughput and the memory clock has skyrocketed to a stunning 10 GHz.
Generally, you can expect up to 3 times faster performance when using VR applications.
GAINWARD Golden Sample GeForce GTX 1080
The GAINWARD company focuses exclusively on NVIDIA graphics cards and the new GeForce GTX 1080 model really shows the difference. The manufacturer has overclocked the chip to 1708 MHz, though its frequency can rise to 1847 MHz if needed. The specifications also indicate that there is a quite decent margin for further overclocking. An excellently designed massive heatsink is cooled by a pair of silent fans, making it a very solid piece of engineering. The power supply requires one 6-pin and one 8-pin connector.
