Seagate Exos 7E8 4TB Base 512n SAS

The Seagate Exos 7E8 4TB Base 512n SAS hard disk is one of the high load internal HDDs for NAS systems. 3.5" HDDs are designed mainly for data centres and desktop PCs. One of the most important characteristics is obviously the rotational speed. The 7200 RPM RPM ensures faster data transmission. The overall data capacity of the HDD is 4000 GB. The drive features a 256 MB memory cache. You can connect the Seagate hard drive and the PC or other devices is facilitated via the SAS interface.

Seagate Exos 7E8 4TB Base 512n SAS Hard Disk Key Features

• Read speed up to 215 MB/s and write speed up to 215 MB/s
• 256 MB memory cache
• Seagate 3.5" disk for standard bays
• Typically, the power consumption of the hard drive is 11,33 W, while in stand-by mode it holds at 5.94 W
• The data transfer is facilitated via the SAS interface
• Standard hard drives are admittedly more susceptible to physical damage, but they also deliver a better storage capacity for less money than SSDs

Other HDD Features

Platter hard disks have a notably special construction. Inside the hard drive there is a mechanism with moving platters accompanied by hard disk heads that read and write the data. These moving parts can be damaged by a shock or impact, but at the same time you get a great combo of a low price and great storage capacity. The important criterion that determines the speed of a HDD is the number of platter revolutions per minute, generally known as RPM. With the Seagate Exos 7E8 4TB Base 512n SAS, you can look forward to 7200 RPM RPM. This is great news for people who demand more from their devices, such as graphic designers, gamers, video editors, and people who tend to use large amounts of data. Data transmission and overall stability is also significantly affected by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Seagate HDD includes a 256 MB cache that keeps the last written data for their prompt retrieval and reading.

Connecting the Seagate HDD

If you want to mount the Seagate Exos 7E8 4TB Base 512n SAS in your PC or other device, it must have a 3.5" slot. All communication with the computer is done through the SAS interface with a standard speed of 12.0 Gbit/s. This technology is fairly rare nowadays.
