Six thousand on the run

In July 2025, Daniel Polman took on one of the craziest cycling challenges imaginable: the Ultra Tour. Completely unsupported, he rode the entire Tour de France route, including all the transfers between the 21 stages that professional teams complete by coach. The project turned into an uncompromising ultra-cycling race against the clock, as Dan tried to reach Paris before the winner in the yellow jersey. In the end, he succeeded with three days to spare. He tackled the total 6013km in just 19 days and 7 hours. On average, he covered 311km and climbed more than 4000 metres of elevation a day, while sleeping for less than 3 hours! His Ultra Tour was later named Achievement of the Year at the King of Cycling awards.
