Ideal for an active lifestyle, healthy snacking and protein replenishment
The word "jerky" comes from the Quechua term "ch'arki", which means dried, salted meat. Jerky is raw meat from which the fat is removed, then cut into strips and dried to prevent spoilage. Drying usually involves the addition of salt, which helps to prevent the development of bacteria in the meat and prolongs its shelf life. Thanks to its high protein content and optimal amount of salt, Bery Jones jerky is ideal for:
- Athletes as a supplement for recovery and energy replenishment after training
- Managers and entrepreneurs like a quick and valuable meal during a hectic day
- Outdoor athletes, climbers and travelers as a reliable snack on the go
- And of course for all those who like to enjoy quality meat
About dried meat, or jerky
Although many think that the technology of jerky was brought by Christopher Columbus from America, in fact jerky was used as early as 12-15. century BC. n. l. in Europe, more than 2,700 years before the discovery of America. Our ancestors knew that by drying and gently salting the meat, it would retain its nutritional value and, most importantly, extend its shelf life. This technology, proven for more than 2,000 years, is still the best choice for preserving the quality of meat.
