Image Parameters
The 5MP CMOS sensor, combined with a fixed lens, provides a clear image with a high dynamic range. The device captures the scene in 2688 × 1512px resolution at up to 30 frames per second. The field of view covers a horizontal angle of 102.4° and a vertical angle of 54.9°. For efficient data transfer and storage space saving, it uses the H.264 video compression format, which preserves detail rendering even at a reduced data rate.
Infrared Night Mode
Monitoring continues uninterrupted even after dark, thanks to the integrated infrared illumination. The classic night vision with a built-in IR filter activates automatically when the ambient light intensity drops. The infrared LEDs illuminate the monitored scene up to a distance of 9m. This system provides a high-contrast black and white image, where object outlines are clearly recognisable even in complete darkness.
Smart Detection
The advanced processor with Motion Detection 2.0 algorithms analyses the image in real time and filters out false alarms. The system can accurately distinguish normal movement from specific events, such as the presence of people, animals, or vehicles. Users can set custom activity zones for monitoring only selected parts of the shot. When an incident is detected, the camera immediately sends notifications to a mobile device and, if necessary, triggers an audible alarm.
Two-Way Audio System
The device integrates hardware elements for real-time audio transmission and recording. A built-in microphone captures acoustic events in the vicinity and saves them along with the video recording. Thanks to the presence of a speaker, full two-way communication is possible with people in front of the lens. This feature facilitates interaction with visitors or allows for an immediate verbal warning to unauthorised individuals directly through the app.
Data Management in UniFi Protect
Captured video recordings are saved to network storage within the UniFi Protect ecosystem. The device supports continuous 24/7 recording as well as motion-based recording. For remote backup, it uses a compatible generic cloud storage service, which keeps important data safe from physical damage to the camera. The user has quick access to all historical records through centralised management.
Connectivity and App
The network connection is provided by an RJ-45 LAN Ethernet interface with support for 10/100 Mb/s speeds. Power is supplied exclusively via the PoE standard, which simplifies wiring to a single data cable. The UniFi Protect mobile app is used for management and configuration, compatible with Android and iOS operating systems. The system supports standard network protocols for integration into surveillance centres and management on the local network.
