ADAM AUDIO A4V
Professional speaker in a compact design
The ADAM Audio A4V studio loudspeaker is designed primarily for short listening distances and multi-speaker surround sound systems. Its dominant feature is its precise and full sound. You'll also appreciate the compact design, which houses a 4" high excursion woofer made of MLM (Multi-Layer Mineral) material, typical of the A Series, and a classic X-ART tweeter. There are also special DSP-based features for uncomplicated sound tuning or the ability to compensate for room acoustics via Sonarworks software. The frequency range makes the ADAM Audio A4V the perfect choice for podcast production and string quartet mixing. The evolutionary design with a larger bevel soundbox effectively reduces sound wave diffraction thicker walls stiffen and minimize internal vibrations, while the rounded bassreflex port optimizes airflow and prevents unwanted sound colouration.
Unique ADAM Audio technology
Tweeter features HPS (High Frequency Propagation System) technology for directional radiation with uniform consistency, wide in the horizontal axis but with narrow and precisely defined dispersion in the vertical axis - thus eliminating unwanted reflections from horizontal surfaces. The ADAM Audio A4V speaker offers rotating HPS ear canal designmade from a fibreglass-reinforced polymer blend, which allows the tweeters to be rotated 90° to take full advantage of the benefits of HPS technology in either the vertical or horizontal position. The handcrafted ADAM Audio X-ART tweeter features a highly accurate transient response for the finest detail and consistent sound. A woofer with a 1" voice coil made of a unique mineral fiber blend combined with a magnetic system produces high output power with very low distortion. The result is perfectly clear sound with low distortion.
ADAM Audio A4V offers exceptional performance
The woofer is powered by a powerful and extremely efficient Class-D amplifier, which enables the production of linear power with minimal distortion. Due to the low thermal radiation, it was possible to fit the ADAM Audio A4V with a smaller heat sink. The tweeter is then powered by a Class AB amplifier with a pleasant and natural high frequency reproduction. Digital processing provides more precise tuning and better predictability compared to traditional analogue speakers. The firmware can be easily updated via the Ethernet interface - giving you the latest ADAM Audio features, including filters and Voicing.
Perfectly adapts to environmental conditions and Voicing function
On the rear panel of the ADAM Audio A4V speaker you will find a 4-band equalizer control to customize the listening room - Bass, Desk, Presence and Treble. Each band can be adjusted in predefined steps and there are over 100 options to easily compensate for acoustic problems from specific speaker placement. Voicing is a predefined sound profile and two modes can be set on the rear panel:
UNR (Uniform Natural Response) - dynamic and natural sounding speech suitable for production, music composition or songwriting, also suitable for listening to your recordings
Pure - with accurate and neutral response, thanks to its flat frequency response it is suitable for mixing and mastering
As part of the extended functionality via the Ethernet connection, there is also an Ext mode - the software includes a 6-band equalizer, through which you can adjust the speaker's response.
Adjust ADAM Audio A4V speaker settings from any listening position
The A Control software is also used for real-time remote control and can be downloaded free of charge for Windows or MacOS on the manufacturer's website after prior registration of the purchased ADAM Audio A4V loudspeaker. The program allows integration of multiple speakers and their remote control, which you will appreciate especially in multi-purpose rooms. Through the Control A software you can include advanced filters directly in the signal path to fine-tune the imperfect acoustics of the room. This built-in platform supports third-party filters from Sonarworks, a world leader in the field. Using Sonarworks software and a measurement microphone, the speakers can be calibrated for optimal listening in your room.
