“My dear Poirot, it was often truly exasperating dealing with you. But thanks to you, my dear Hercule, I can finally call myself a writer.”
What was the fate and the real face of the Queen of Crime, whose books are known to readers of all generations around the world?
Agatha Miller is a woman who knows her own mind. Instead of a marriage of convenience, she decides to pursue a career as a pianist. However, her dream of a musical career is dashed by a crippling nervousness when playing in front of an audience. And it seems that Agatha will also have to wait for her great love. Out of the sheer boredom of her everyday life and at her mother's urging, she begins to write stories. First short stories or poems, then she decides to write a detective novel. When, as a pharmacist, she encounters poisons, a criminal plot is born in her mind, one that won't let her rest until she puts it down on paper. Now all that's missing is a detective. And Agatha knows exactly what he will look like and what his name will be! From that moment on, Hercule Poirot accompanies her practically everywhere. And when Agatha meets Archibald Christie and falls in love, her life seems perfect. She doesn't give up on her dream of becoming a writer and keeps sending out her manuscripts. However, it seems it won't be easy. Will the young, aspiring author find a publisher to support her? And how will her life be affected by the looming Second World War and the birth of her daughter?
Take a look behind the scenes of the Queen of Crime's success and discover the lesser-known side of Agatha Christie.
