Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Medicine for medical students and graduates. Anest
This publication provides a set of prepared questions for the examination in Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine (ARIM) and is a unique study material intended primarily for students of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. Compared to other available sources, it offers a clear, comprehensibly written, and practice-oriented summary of the requirements placed on students for the exam. The main advantage of this publication is its focus on so-called learning objectives—precisely what is truly necessary to know to successfully pass the ARIM exam.
This textbook allows the reader to prepare for the exam quickly and effectively, both for revision and for independent study. The structure of the answers corresponds to the real questions asked in exams and includes key concepts, clinical contexts, and practical aspects of the subject. The book also serves as a useful aid in clinical practice.
The target group is primarily students of general medicine, but also students of follow-up master's and bachelor's degree programmes in non-medical healthcare fields, such as intensive care or nursing. Due to its universal nature, the publication can also be used by a wider range of medical students in the Czech Republic.
The content covers the main thematic areas of the ARIM field to the extent required for the undergraduate examination, including emergency conditions, the approach to a patient in an ICU, and the basics of intensive care. The textbook was prepared by the course instructors themselves, who are actively involved in teaching, examining students, and have extensive clinical practice in the field.
