APC Smart-UPS SRT 8000VA 230V

APC Smart-UPS SRT 8000VA 230V
The APC Smart-UPS SRT 8000 uses an on-line, double-conversion topology that supplies a pure sine wave output with zero transfer time to battery. It provides a real power of 8000W at an apparent power of 8000VA with a power factor of 1.0. The tower on-line UPS protects servers and critical IT infrastructure from all types of power grid failures. Its operating efficiency is 94.8% at both full and half load, which helps to reduce operating costs and thermal losses. At 100% load, it powers connected devices for 5 minutes and 14 seconds, and at 50% load, the backup time extends to 14 minutes and 32 seconds.
Key features of the APC Smart-UPS SRT 8000VA 230V UPS
- On-line double-conversion topology ensures a continuous power supply
- Hot-swappable battery for replacement without power interruption
- Integrated network card for remote management and monitoring
- PowerChute software automatically shuts down systems
- SmartSlot for installing additional cards
- Cold start function from the battery without a mains connection
- High power density in a tower design
Performance and efficiency
The on-line, double-conversion topology generates a pure sine wave output. The switch to battery power is instantaneous, with zero delay. Both the real and apparent power reach identical values of 8000W and 8000VA. The operating efficiency at both full and half load is 94.8%, reducing operating costs and thermal losses. Additionally, Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) stabilises the output voltage without using the battery.
Battery module and protection features
Inside the unit is a lead-acid battery that is user-replaceable and hot-swappable. The replacement module is designated APCRBC140 and takes approximately 1.5 hours to fully charge. The system protects the battery against deep discharge and supports a cold start function, allowing the device to be started directly from the battery. A surge protector with an absorption capacity of 480J guards the connected electronics.
Remote management and software
For remote management, the integrated Network Management Card 3 provides an Ethernet port. The supplied PowerChute Network Shutdown software performs a controlled shutdown of physical servers and virtual machines during an extended outage. In addition to the network interface, the unit also offers USB and RS-232 ports for local communication. The vacant SmartSlot offers further expansion options for installing additional cards.
Connectivity options
A robust hard-wire terminal block provides the input connection to the mains. The terminal block supports both single-phase (3-wire H+N+E) and three-phase (5-wire 3PH+N+G) wiring for flexibility in various installation environments. To power connected equipment, the unit offers a total of ten backed-up outputs. Six IEC C13 sockets serve standard servers and network elements, while four more powerful IEC C19 connectors handle more energy-demanding hardware. Three IEC Jumper cables are also included.
