As game

Three masked assailants beat a man unconscious in a Prague park. In a video they recorded, they claim to be paedophile hunters who have just brought one to justice. But is it the truth, or is there a different, far more extensive conspiracy behind their actions? Young television reporter Jana Horová is trying to uncover it all. At the same time, she is caring for her three younger siblings, who would otherwise end up in a children's home, and fending off loan sharks after her father left the family in debt. However, the threads from this seemingly trivial assault lead high into the world of politics and deep into the past. All the way back to the alleged theft of newborns from maternity hospitals during the communist era. And the young reporter finds herself in danger. Josef Klíma, a co-founder of investigative journalism in the Czech Republic, is well-acquainted with television filming in the field and knows how to use real cases from his journalistic career to tell compelling stories. This book will keep you up all night.
