Asustor Drivestor 4 Gen2 AS1204T
Asustor Drivestor 4 Gen2 AS1204T
The Asustor Drivestor NAS centralises data storage, backup, and management in your home. This NAS with four hard drive bays supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD configurations. The device is powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz Realtek RTD1619B processor, complemented by 1GB of DDR4 RAM. Network connectivity is provided by a single 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port, which surpasses the speed of standard gigabit connections and speeds up file transfers on your local network. The Asustor Drivestor NAS features a sliding cover for easy access to the internal components. Thumbscrews are used to secure the outer covers and internal hard drive rails. No additional tools are needed to install the hard drives, which shortens the device's setup time and simplifies drive replacement.

High performance with the Realtek RTD1619B processor
At the heart of the Asustor Drivestor NAS is a quad-core Realtek RTD1619B processor running at 1.7GHz. This hardware includes an integrated graphics chip with support for hardware decoding, which facilitates smooth playback and transcoding of 10-bit 4K video in H.265 format. The 1GB of DDR4 system memory supports the smooth operation of several applications at once and reduces the response time when accessing stored data.
Network connection
The device offers a single 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port, which is backward compatible with standard gigabit networks. With drives in a RAID 5 configuration, it achieves read speeds of up to 265MB/s and write speeds of up to 160MB/s. This transfer speed reduces the time needed to back up large volumes of data and makes it easier to work with high-resolution multimedia files.
Advanced security
The ADM operating system provides data protection against external threats and hardware failure. It includes the built-in ADM Defender firewall, ClamAV antivirus, and support for encrypted connections via HTTPS, SFTP, or VPN protocols. The security architecture is ready for post-quantum cryptography (PQC) thanks to the implementation of hybrid TLS encryption with the Kyber algorithm, which protects data in transit from future decryption threats.
Data protection with Btrfs snapshots
Support for the Btrfs file system brings the ability to create snapshots in the Snapshot Center app. These snapshots capture the state of your data at a specific point in time and enable rapid recovery in the event of accidental deletion or a ransomware attack. Users can create snapshots for iSCSI LUNs, which increases the reliability of the entire storage system without significantly affecting the total disk capacity.
Multimedia centre and cloud backup
The DataSync Center and Cloud Backup Center apps let you connect your storage to public cloud services like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. For home entertainment, the Photo Gallery 3, LooksGood, and SoundsGood tools are available, which organise photos, videos, and music files into clear libraries with the option to stream to TVs and mobile phones via the DLNA interface.
