Asustor Flashstor 12 Pro-FS6712X
Asustor Flashstor 12 Pro-FS6712X
The Asustor Flashstor FS6712X NAS serves as a powerful network storage solution for storing, sharing, and backing up data in both home and business environments. This device uses exclusively SSD technology, which eliminates the mechanical noise of traditional hard drives and increases overall data transfer speeds. The device is powered by a quad-core Intel Celeron N5105 processor with a frequency of up to 2.9GHz, complemented by 4GB of RAM. Its low-profile design makes it easy to place on a desk or next to a TV, where it functions as a quiet multimedia centre with support for high-resolution video playback.
Key features of the Asustor Flashstor 12 Pro-FS6712X NAS
- The network storage has twelve slots for fast M.2 2280 NVMe drives
- A single 10GbE port ensures fast connectivity
- Quad-core Intel Celeron processor runs at up to 2.9GHz
- 4GB of DDR4 RAM, expandable to 16GB
- The device has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports at 10Gb/s and two USB 2.0 ports
- Multimedia features include an HDMI 2.0b interface and S/PDIF audio output
- The storage supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 6, and RAID 10 disk arrays
Speed with twelve NVMe slots
The storage offers twelve slots, providing instant responsiveness when working with large files. The absence of traditional hard drives significantly reduces the risk of damage from impacts or shocks. Internal cooling is provided by a system of air channels that maintain a stable temperature for the installed SSDs, even under long-term load.
Network connection
The device includes one 10-gigabit Ethernet port for fast data transfers on the local network. This connectivity ensures backward compatibility with speeds of 5Gb/s, 2.5Gb/s, 1Gb/s, and 100Mb/s. In combination with a RAID 5 disk array, it achieves sequential read speeds in Windows of up to 1181MB/s and write speeds of 1027MB/s, accelerating work with extensive data libraries.
A hub for video editors and graphic designers
This device is an official audio and video partner for Adobe Creative Cloud software and integrates with Final Cut Pro on the Mac platform. Users can work on projects directly from the network storage, eliminating the need to constantly connect and disconnect external USB drives. This prevents wear and tear on the computer's physical ports and facilitates immediate sharing of work-in-progress among team members.
Multimedia features
The HDMI 2.0b output and optical S/PDIF port enable direct connection to a TV, monitor, or audio system. An integrated hardware decoder ensures smooth transcoding of 10-bit 4K H.265 video. Support for the Roon Server and Hi-Res Player music services provides playback of lossless music formats and high-quality DSD files.
Data security and post-quantum cryptography
The ADM operating system includes integrated protection such as a firewall, ClamAV antivirus, and the ADM Defender tool. The system supports PQC TLS hybrid encryption with the Kyber algorithm, X25519+ML-KEM 768, protecting network communication from future threats. The Snapshot Center feature lets you create up to 256 snapshots of Btrfs and iSCSI volumes for quick data recovery in the event of a ransomware attack.
Operation and remote control
The efficient hardware design with SSDs results in low energy consumption. The noise level of the entire device is kept at 18.7dB, which is equivalent to a quiet whisper. Users can take advantage of the power scheduling function for automatic shutdown at night and Wake on LAN support for remote wakeup from sleep mode.
