Birthday story of a dog and a cat
The cake is ready, let the adventure begin!
THE DOGGY AND THE KITTY CELEBRATE A BIRTHDAY
In this story, the Doggy and the Kitty decide to celebrate not only their own birthdays but also Mr Beaver's, which means big preparations are in order. They weave a cake, decorate their little house, and prepare refreshments, all in their own special way.
You will also find out what they did at night, how they made beaver dancers, and how they rolled barrels down a hill. And as if that weren't enough, they go for a ride on wheels and get Mr Beaver into quite a bit of trouble!
But what would a celebration be without a surprise... Dear children, the Doggy and the Kitty will get you not only lots of toys for your birthday but also one very old chest. Inside, they'll find a mysterious map that they must decipher to embark on an adventurous journey for real treasure. I won't tell you whether they manage to read the map and find the treasure, but you should know that they'll work up a real sweat doing it!
Vlasta Hurtíková
Vlasta Hurtíková (born 1971) is an author of children's books. She was the first in our country to publish a Czech fairytale book with pictograms, Kocourek Matýsek (2013), intended for children with special educational needs who have difficulty understanding the written and spoken word. The author had been writing stories with pictograms for her autistic son since he was two years old. Thanks to these specific books with symbols and pictures, her son learned to speak and read. That is why she decided to publish one of them to help other children with the same or similar difficulties. The author has published a number of other books and also writes fairytale stories. Ms Hurtíková currently lives with her son in Hlučín and writes books full-time. She is also, among other things, a passionate traveller. She travels with her son and draws inspiration for new stories from her wanderings. In her books, she most often describes the beauty of the Czech landscape – the home that is closest to her heart.
