Brittany's desire
Death Among the Sirens
The thirteenth case for Commissaire Dupin, penguin and caffeine lover, a born Parisian exiled to Brittany—the end of the world. On the very edge of Brittany, the lush green island of Ushant lies in the middle of the stormy Atlantic. Commissaire Dupin is there on a special assignment from the prefect to solve a mysterious death. The sea has washed ashore a certain Celtic musician. In his house, the police discover a reference linked to an ancient, dark ritual. However, Dupin's investigation is complicated by the conspiratorial community of the remote island's inhabitants—the Sirens, priestesses and storytellers who live outside the norms and know that what is apparent matters. And the Commissaire is faced with the almost impossible task of finding out what that might be.
