The murderer vanished without a trace, but the investigators didn't give up
In November 1995, a naked human body covered with a coat is found in a stream near a football pitch not far from the train station in Háj ve Slezsku. The police are called and soon discover that it is a girl who has been raped and murdered. But what happened to her clothes, shoes, and personal belongings? The murderer left nothing behind at the scene except for the body and the coat. The detectives from the Ostrava major crimes unit launch a large-scale search and a complex investigation. Computers, mobile phones, the internet, and the latest forensic methods are all things of the future. The investigators work with a pencil, a notepad, hand-drawn portraits, and typewriters, filling stacks of paper with their findings. But they must act fast, because they fear the murderer will strike again…

Vladimír Zlý
Vladimír Zlý (*1988, Ostrava) is a Czech author of crime stories set in the Ostrava region. His eye for detail is a reflection of his decade of practice in dental laboratories; his experience in public transport, where he worked as a tram driver, allowed him to observe a wide variety of human behaviour. He is the author of two standalone books (Čistič, Pod haldou) and one on which he collaborated with another author (Perfektní alibi). He lives in Havířov with his wife and two daughters, works as an administrative assistant, loves reading detective stories, crime thrillers and dystopias, and listens to rock and metal music.
