Connectivity options
The office environment requires various options for integration into the existing network. The printer offers connection via a USB 2.0 port as well as a LAN network interface. Wireless WiFi connectivity is complemented by a Wireless Direct connection option. The LAN network interface and wireless WiFi enable printer sharing among multiple users in the office. Support for Microsoft Universal Print simplifies print management via cloud services.
Security and the Canon laser printer
Data and network infrastructure protection takes place at both the printing device and network traffic level. The printer uses TLS 1.3 and IPSec security protocols for transmission encryption. The encrypted secure print function prevents unauthorised persons from accessing printouts. Secure printing protects sensitive company data from misuse directly at the printer. The built-in firmware uses machine learning algorithms to recommend optimal security settings for the network.
Paper handling
The input capacity consists of a standard 550-sheet cassette and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray. Optional additional cassettes increase the total capacity to 2300 sheets. The printer handles media with a weight of 60 to 120g/m² in the cassette and up to 200g/m² in the multipurpose tray. A capacity of up to 2300 sheets reduces the frequency of paper replenishment for large print jobs. The output tray holds 150 sheets of finished documents.
Mobile printing and the Canon laser printer
Printing from mobile devices works without the need to install computer drivers. The system supports Apple AirPrint technology and is Mopria-certified for Android devices. Users can send print jobs directly from their smartphones or tablets. Mobile printing shortens the time needed to send files without starting up a desktop computer. The Canon PRINT mobile app is used for direct setting of print functions.
Eco-friendly operation
The printer's design takes into account the requirements for reduced energy consumption and eco-friendly operation. During the manufacturing of the printer's outer chassis, up to 10% of the weight is made from recycled plastics. The power consumption in sleep mode is 0.59W. Low electricity consumption reduces running costs in both standby and active mode. The typical weekly electricity consumption is 0.35kWh.
