A network switch is an active network unit connecting individual devices or other network elements. It is designed for controlling network traffic. The Cisco Catalyst C1300-48T-4G is made to be placed in a rack. The Switch has 48 × RJ-45 ports that provide connection with network elements. 4 SFP connectors serve to transport data via optical fibers. 10/100/1000Base-T technology allows data transfer with a speed of up to 1000 Mbit/s. It uses Dual Personality ports, which are notable for including both the RJ-45 and SFP connector ; however, only one of them can be in use at a time. The switch dimensions are 288 × 444.5 × 43.9mm. QoS aka Quality of Service technology makes sure the switch stays within its capacity, and it also lets you set up end station priority.
