DJI RS 4 Mini
DJI RS 4 Mini
A compact and lightweight stabiliser for content creators
DJI introduces a brand new, compact and lightweight stabiliser, tailor-made for all content creators. The DJI RS 4 Mini features automatic axis locks, intelligent tracking and improved balancing with a Teflon™ coating. The gimbal is a great device for more efficient and smoother filmmaking, thanks to its native vertical shooting function. The built-in battery lets you use the DJI RS 4 Mini for up to 13 hours on a single charge. With fast-charging support, the stabiliser will be ready to use again in no time. The DJI RS 4 Mini gimbal psupports a wide range of mirrorless cameras and lenses, delivering top-class performance [6]. Thanks to its high-performance motors, it maintains stable shots even when zoomed in to the maximum focal length on recommended combinations, without needing to be rebalanced.
Key features of the DJI RS 4 Mini stabiliser
- 2nd-gen automatic axis locks
- Responsive Follow Mode
- Faster switching to vertical mode
- Improved balancing with Teflon™ coating
- Intelligent tracking and composition [1]
- Camera and smartphone support [1]
Quick unlocking and easy switching to vertical mode
The DJI RS 4 Mini stabiliser is equipped with automatic axis locks. When turned on, all three axes are unlocked, and when turned off or put to sleep, they lock again. This feature significantly speeds up the entire shooting process, making it easier to transition between shots and to store the stabiliser. The improved design allows the DJI RS 4 Mini's arms to fold flatter, saving space during transport. The DJI RS 4 Mini features quick switching between horizontal and vertical modes, the fastest in the entire RS series[3]. To switch to vertical mode, simply loosen and press the side rotating lock, remove the horizontal plate, rotate it 90°, and re-attach it. The whole process takes just 10 seconds.
DJI RS 4 Mini excels with smooth and precise balancing
The gimbal has new features that make it easier to balance a camera or mobile phone.
- Teflon™ interlayers [4] reduce friction and make camera balancing easier.
- A fine-tuning knob on the tilt axis enables millimetre-precise balancing by moving the camera forwards or backwards.
- The upper quick-release plate now includes three positioning slots, expanding the camera installation options.
A stabiliser for mobile phones, video cameras and cameras
The DJI RS 4 Mini is surprisingly compact and lightweight, yet offers a 2kg payload, so you can use it with a Sony A7 mirrorless camera with a 24-70mm F2.8 GM II lens or Sony ZV vlogging cameras. When combined with a DJI Mic [5], additional lights and other accessories, the camera movement remains smooth and stable [6]. You can also use the DJI RS 4 Mini stabiliser for smartphones [7], which increases its versatility. Once you pair the stabiliser with your device via Bluetooth [6], you can start or stop recording directly from the button on the stabiliser, without needing a shutter release cable. After the initial pairing, the camera will automatically connect every time you use it.
Touchscreen for easy setup
The DJI RS 4 Mini stabiliser boasts an improved user interface, dominated by a touchscreen with excellent icon display and faster response. Stabiliser status indicators have been newly added. All parameters can be fine-tuned using the rotary dial. The DJI stabiliser display also has an automatic lock, which, when locked, displays the current gimbal and joystick modes at a reduced brightness. This reduces overall battery consumption and prevents accidental touches. The manufacturer has equipped the DJI RS 4 Mini with a new-generation briefcase handle[8], which has been made 20% smaller [9] and 28g lighter[9] for the RS 4 Mini. This makes handheld shooting more comfortable and puts less strain on your hands, even during longer shots.
Improved stabilisation algorithm
Enjoy excellent shots with the help of the enhanced 4th-generation stabilisation system. The DJI RS 4 Mini offers an optimal balance between stabilisation strength and the natural feel of camera movement, ensuring excellent performance and a better user experience. The increased stability is also clearly noticeable in vertical shooting, helping you capture dynamic shots better. The integrated battery keeps the DJI RS 4 Mini stabiliser running for up to 13 hours. After just 30 minutes of charging, the DJI stabiliser will have enough power for up to 5 hours [12] of use.
