Leoš Janáček was bound to Antonín Dvořák by a sincere friendship that was unparalleled in Janáček's life. This is evidenced, among other things, by the quoted recollection from Janáček in 1911, written for the publication of the Dvořák anthology by Hudební revue for what would have been Dvořák's 70th birthday. The composers' friendship began during Janáček's studies at the Prague Organ School in 1874–1875.
