EATON UPS 5P 1150i Gen2

The Eaton 5P 1150i Gen2 UPS uses line-interactive topology with an apparent power of 1150VA and a real power of 920W. This UPS for IT systems integrates automatic voltage regulation, which stabilises mains fluctuations without switching to the battery, thus extending its life. The clear LCD display shows key operating parameters in real time, including load status and remaining runtime. The unit provides a long backup time, which is 3.1 minutes at a full load of 920W and 11.4 minutes at half load. A high operating efficiency of 98.2% helps to reduce energy costs and heat loss during normal operation.

Topology and voltage stabilisation

The Eaton 5P 1150i Gen2 UPS operates on a line-interactive topology principle. This technology actively corrects undervoltage and overvoltage in the 160V to 294V range using automatic voltage regulation, without drawing power from the batteries. This conserves battery capacity for complete power outages. Its high operating efficiency reaches 98.2%, which limits electricity consumption and waste heat production. The unit supplies a stable output voltage and protects sensitive electronic devices.

Battery system and backup time

Two maintenance-free lead-acid batteries with a 2×12V/9Ah configuration ensure a reliable power supply during an outage. These batteries can be replaced directly by the user if necessary, which simplifies maintenance and reduces operating costs. Integrated deep-discharge protection actively extends battery life. An automatic battery test function verifies the reliability of the entire system. This model does not support expansion with external battery modules.

Operating features and connectivity

This UPS comes in a Tower design with dimensions of 233×150×345mm and a weight of 11kg. The operating noise level does not exceed 35dB at a distance of one metre, making it suitable for installation directly in an office environment without causing disruption. The device operates in temperatures from 0 to 40°C. It includes the Eaton Brightlayer Software Suite, which handles detailed monitoring, configuration, and controlled automatic shutdown of connected systems during a prolonged power outage. An IEC C14 input connector is used to connect to the mains. Eight IEC C13 output sockets are available to power protected devices. For management and monitoring, it offers a USB communication interface, which is HID-compatible for direct integration with operating systems, and an RS-232 serial port. Advanced remote management options include a mini terminal block for ROO/RPO functions and dry contacts for signalling status to higher-level systems.
