Fractal Design Epoch Black Solid
The Fractal Design Epoch Black Solid PC case in black is designed for gaming and professional builds, with a focus on controlled airflow. The Midi Tower format combines a simple design with a construction geared towards dissipating heat from installed components. The fine mesh front panel allows air intake, while the solid steel side panel creates a closed case structure. This design helps to reduce fan noise and maintains an understated appearance without any lighting elements. The interior space accommodates modern components, including longer graphics cards.
Key features of the Fractal Design Epoch Black Solid PC case
- The chassis supports the installation of common motherboard formats
- The steel side panel dampens noise and completely conceals internal components
- Three Momentum fans provide baseline airflow
- The interior can accommodate even large graphics cards
- The front panel includes a modern USB-C connector
- Dust filters protect the interior from excessive dirt build-up
Fractal Design Epoch Solid case construction
The solid steel construction ensures the stability and durability of the entire chassis. The front panel uses a fine mesh that efficiently draws fresh air directly to heat-generating components. The opaque steel side panel helps to dampen operational noise while concealing the internal cable layout for a visually clean result. Accessing the dust filters and the case interior is tool-free.
Efficient cooling system
The case is equipped with three pre-installed 120mm Momentum fans with FDB bearings, designed for quiet operation and long-term performance even under heavy load. The chassis design allows for up to six fans, promoting effective airflow throughout the entire interior. Additional fans can be installed in the top and rear positions. The front of the case is adapted for mounting water cooling radiators up to 360mm, while the top position supports a 240mm radiator. This layout accommodates water cooling for both the processor and graphics card without restricting other components.
Epoch Solid case interior space
The internal space accommodates graphics cards up to 372mm long while keeping the front fans in place. The maximum CPU cooler height is 170mm, which corresponds to most commonly used tower coolers. The interior is designed for mounting ATX, mATX, and Mini-ITX format motherboards.
Storage in the Fractal Design Epoch case
The case includes two dedicated mounts for 2.5-inch SSDs and two universal bays for 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives. Cable management utilises a 30mm wide space behind the motherboard, along with integrated grommets and hook-and-loop straps for easy routing. This keeps the main chamber clear for airflow.
Connectivity and accessibility
The top panel features a modern USB-C connector with a 20Gbps transfer speed and a pair of USB-A ports for connecting standard peripherals and external devices. There is also a combo 3.5mm audio jack for a headset with a microphone. The layout of the controls and ports is designed to remain easily accessible whether the case is placed on or under a desk.
