Stormie Omartian is best known in this country for her series of bestsellers on the power of intercessory prayer (for a husband, for adult children, for grandchildren, etc.).
She had an exceptionally difficult childhood. The family lived in a remote, isolated house where she was abused by her mentally ill mother; her kind but weak father escaped the situation by working on the farm. Stormie soon left home and began a successful career in show business. However, the harsh environment of Hollywood only deepened her inner anxiety and emptiness, and she woke up every day with suicidal thoughts. Drugs, alcohol and casual sex provided only temporary relief, and she became even more entangled in her search for healing through esoteric teachings and occultism. Paradoxically, the only thing that kept her afloat was her hectic pace of life and the sheer amount of work she had. On the verge of despair, Stormie encounters Jesus, and so begins her long and arduous journey towards healing, forgiveness, and freedom from all her addictions. Her husband Michael, an outstanding musician with whom she started a family in 1973, became a great gift from God. Soon they began to serve together in the church, bearing fruit they had never dreamed of in their youth.
This is the second time this book has been published in Czech, this time with a new title and in a revised translation; the first edition was published in 2014 under the title Stormie.
