Star Wars: Squadrons is an accomplished action simulator from the Star Wars universe that should easily please fans of both Star Wars and the simulation genre itself. The Canadian development studio Motive has created a well-made action title with a solid story campaign, fun gameplay, and a quality multiplayer component, which could, however, do with a few more game modes and maps. Iconic Starfighters on Both Sides
Test your piloting skills in legendary starships. The X-Wing, A-Wing, U-Wing and Y-Wing await you, each with a different role in battle. Bombers destroy giant cruisers, fighters escort them, and support ships provide additional protection.
A True Space Simulator
Star Wars: Squadrons emphasises fun gameplay, but it will also delight simulation lovers. You decide which systems to pump energy into and which to bypass. But make your decisions quickly, as hesitation in multiplayer mode means a swift demise and a lost point for your side.
Empire vs. Rebels
Whichever side you join, Star Wars: Squadrons promises adrenaline-fuelled dogfights across several online modes.
TIE fighters will roar with their well-known screech and strike fear into the enemies of the Empire.
Customisations and upgrades will also be visible in your ship's cockpit. Shred your opponents while an Ewok key ring dangles from your helmet.
After the Events of Return of the Jedi
In addition to its online mode, Star Wars: Squadrons also offers a story campaign. The Battle of Endor has ended in victory for the Rebels and the second Death Star has been destroyed. Will you side with the humbled Empire, or will you join the cleanup as a Rebel Alliance pilot? The story promises a wide range of different characters and some familiar faces too.
