Glass House

Rose Barclay, a nine-year-old girl whose parents are going through a divorce battle, witnessed the death of her nanny and stopped speaking immediately afterwards as a result of the trauma she experienced. Stella Hudson is assigned by the court as Rosa's conflict guardian, whose opinion will decide which parent gets custody of the child after the divorce. Because of her own traumatic childhood, Stella refuses to accept clients under the age of thirteen, but her close friend and respected judge believes she is the only one who can help the little girl.

After Stella drives through the iron gates of the Barclays' sprawling estate and enters their lavish villa, she begins to suspect that the case is far more complicated than it seems. Even the house itself, with not a shred of glass in it, has something dark and sinister about it.

Stella gradually uncovers disturbing facts that the family is desperately trying to hide, and the noose of danger begins to tighten around her. In her efforts to help the mute girl, Stella's own past resurfaces and she needs to come to terms with it.

Everyone is a suspect in the murder of the nanny - Rosa's mother, father and invalid grandmother. And even Rose herself. Is the little girl Stella is supposed to protect a dangerous madman from whom she should be protecting herself?
