In a league of its own

The hottest match of the season begins

Reese Remington is the first female club owner in MLB, and she has spent her entire life preparing for this career. She spent years gaining valuable experience behind the scenes of baseball, is highly intelligent and is exceptionally well-qualified for the job. However, the public only sees a woman in a man's world and doubts she deserves her position. Under constant scrutiny and pressure, she cannot afford any distractions – especially in the form of the attractive team manager who questions her every decision.

Emmett Montgomery is a former baseball star who, as a coach, considers his players family and the stadium his home. Having run the team his way for years, he resents his cold new boss, who treats baseball purely as a business. But forced to spend countless hours and away games by her side, he begins to see the fire burning inside Reese and realises that beneath her ambition lies a deep love for the club and a determination to prove her worth.

When their arguments turn to flirting and sparks begin to fly, professional boundaries blur and they find themselves unable to resist each other. Yet Reese knows that many are waiting for her to fail and that the safest option is to stay away from Emmett – for the sake of the team, his job and her career. However, staying apart is one discipline that neither of them can master.
