The Inter-Tech IPC 4U-4736 - Rack 4U computer case serves as the foundation for building high-capacity storage systems. Its design focuses on achieving high storage density within a standard server rack. The main feature is the ability to install up to 36 hot-swap 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives. The case therefore supports the deployment of various types of storage arrays, from data archiving to running virtualisation platforms. For installing an operating system or cache, there are two internal 2.5" bays that do not block access to the main data drives.

Case cooling and maintenance
Airflow is handled by seven 80mm fans located behind the drive bays. The use of seven standard-fitted hot-swap fans simplifies their potential replacement without needing to shut down the entire system. Access to components is made easier by the snap-on top cover of the case. The rear panel features perforated low-profile slot covers for add-on cards.
