Jošt: The Price of Memories
Victory wasn't the end. Jost must follow the tracks of the dead…
Jost Vaněvski has survived his first year at Brünburg, but it has brought him no peace. The dramatic events from Světlodar return to him in nightmares, the spirit Marcel remains on the run, and a phantom that was supposed to be imprisoned forever disappears from the castle.
So instead of a peaceful holiday, another investigation awaits Jost—one that follows not only the tracks of the dead, but also memories that someone has hidden far too deep. His friend Bruno's sick father, old books, and the wandering boulder Eduard, whose strange abilities turn out to be unexpectedly useful, all come into play. What's more, the spiritualist Dagon Levett has finally managed to pick up the trail of the fugitive spirit Marcel… and if he wants to catch him, he will have to venture to the very border between life and death.
The closer Jost and Bruno get to the truth, the clearer it becomes that the great war certainly did not end with the victory at Brünburg. Some secrets have survived in the legacy of the dead, others in the memories of the living. And both come at a price…
