Jan Kotouč
A stalwart of the Czech literary scene, focusing primarily on the military sci-fi and space opera genres. His first work was the short story Too Close an Encounter, a revised version of which became part of the Hirano Sector novel cycle, which currently consists of eight books. The author's other cycle, Czech Lands, belongs to the alternate history genre. Kotouč is also the author of the four-part military sci-fi series Central Empire, has contributed to the Agent JFK series, and has published numerous short stories in various anthologies. He won the Aeronautilus Award and the Encouragement Award in 2012 for the two-part Tristan Civil War.
