Poetry that Remains
A long time ago, Jiří Koten was determined to become a poet, but life then chained him to scientific and pedagogical work. What happens to poetry in such a case? It remains as a space for our loved ones, for caring for them, and for ourselves as their nearest and dearest. The inherited books still reflect his father's eyes. The awareness that in the word 'ridiculous' (směšný), the second diacritic is painfully close to 'mixed' (směsný), and that it is really about nothing more than patiently, carefully erasing it again and again.
