Obverse and Reverse

This book is a tale of two stories

Many years ago, the sky rained stone and fire, and the old empire could not withstand the onslaught. The lands that broke free from its stifling hegemony are to establish a new world order. Two people in particular see this process in a broader context. In the winter palace, the king's new physician has more enemies than she initially realises. Her adversaries, however, do not know that she has more than just medicine in her arsenal… In another palace across the mountains, the protector's chief bodyguard, in the service of a regicide, also has his enemies. But they can strike much faster, and he fights them with more traditional means. This book is a tale of two stories. Both are heading towards a dramatic climax, both are more intertwined than the heroes suspect, and both share the common denominators of deception, love, and betrayal.
