Fill the filter with medium-ground coffee, level with the rim, but do not tamp it down. Then, screw the pot together tightly and place it on a low flame or electric hob. As soon as the coffee starts to make its characteristic gurgling sound and fills the upper chamber, immediately remove the pot from the heat to prevent the coffee from burning and becoming bitter.
