Philosophy (? ) at the beginning of the 21st century: Theory of relativity – what Einstein forgot
The theory of relativity is Einstein's vision of how nature works. He tried to justify his vision by choosing a specific situation. From this, out of all the alternatives relating to the physical situation used, he only used the one that proved his theory.
He did not justify anything. He did not explain anything. He merely made assertions and supported them with a single example.
The proof: in the formula he used to calculate the maximum possible speed, he used the square of the speed of light, even though his formula showed that the highest possible speed is the speed of light itself (not its square).
He did not explain why he used this specific speed and why he did not use, for example, the speed of a snail. Nor did he justify why he used a length of 1m and why he did not use a different length.
If he had used either of these alternative figures, the calculation would have yielded a different result, and he would not have been able to claim that the speed of light is the highest speed possible.
