QNAP TS-435XeU-4G

QNAP TS-435XeU-4G
The QNAP TS-435XeU-4G is used for storing, backing up, and centrally managing data in a network environment. This rack NAS server has a short depth of 291mm, making it easy to install in shallow racks and saving space for cabling or ventilation. The device is powered by a quad-core 2.2GHz processor, and the motherboard has 4GB of DDR4 RAM, which can be expanded up to 32GB. Users can install four 3.5" SATA HDDs or 2.5" SATA HDDs and use the two integrated M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 3 slots for cache acceleration. You can expand the storage space at any time as your data needs grow. Connect QNAP expansion units to the server using compatible interfaces. The clear interface lets you easily configure new disk volumes and manage additional storage.
Key features of the QNAP TS-435XeU-4G NAS
- Two fast M.2 NVMe slots for cache acceleration
- Two 10GbE SFP+ ports to speed up file access and data backup
- 2.5GbE network interfaces support port trunking for higher throughput
- QTS operating system offers advanced tools for ransomware protection
- 4GB of DDR4 RAM, expandable up to 32GB
- Compact chassis with a depth of only 291mm for easy installation in shallow cabinets
Design
The device has a depth of just 291mm, making it easy to install in smaller wall-mounted racks. This leaves plenty of space in the rack for airflow and cable management. The 1U form factor design is intended for smaller offices or server rooms. The design supports standard 19-inch cabinets with an optional mounting kit.
Fast network connection
The NAS offers two 10GbE SFP+ ports and two 2.5GbE RJ45 ports for network connectivity. These dual interfaces speed up large file transfers and reduce backup times. By using port trunking, you can increase the transfer speed up to 5Gb/s on the 2.5GbE interface. The fast network interfaces facilitate team collaboration when working with multimedia.
Efficient SSD caching
There are two integrated M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 3 drive slots. These bays are used to set up an SSD cache, which reduces latency and speeds up random reads and writes. Additionally, the Qtier system automatically moves frequently used data to faster storage media. This contributes to the smooth running of demanding database applications.
Containerisation and virtualisation
The integrated Container Station app combines Docker, LXD, and Kata Containers technologies. Users can easily download, import, and run applications in the NAS environment without complex configuration. The device is certified for the Microsoft Hyper-V virtualisation environment. The system supports hosting multiple isolated containers simultaneously without high hardware demands.
Data security and snapshots
The QTS operating system offers protection against ransomware using block-based snapshots. Snapshots record the state of the system at a given moment and are used for quick data recovery in the event of an attack. AES-128-GMAC encryption accelerates SMB signing on Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 operating systems. This increases file-sharing security without a drop in CPU performance.
