The QNAP TS-932PX-4G NAS is designed for storing, backing up and sharing data in both home and business environments. This compact nine-bay device includes five bays for 3.5" hard drives and four bays for 2.5" SSDs. Network connectivity is provided by two 10GbE SFP+ ports and two 2.5GbE LAN ports. A 1.7GHz quad-core processor works with 4GB of DDR4 RAM, which can be expanded up to 16GB. The device uses the QTS operating system and supports Qtier auto-tiering technology to optimise storage space.

Hybrid drive architecture
The combination of five 3.5" HDD bays and four 2.5" SSD bays creates a hybrid storage space. The system uses SSDs for cache memory. Qtier auto-tiering technology optimises data storage based on frequency of use. The system automatically moves frequently used files to faster media. The hard drives then provide high capacity for archiving.
Secure backup
The Hybrid Backup Sync application integrates data backup, recovery and synchronisation. Users can save files to remote servers or cloud services. Data deduplication using QuDedup technology saves disk space and reduces transfer times. System snapshots protect data from accidental deletion. Users can restore files to a previous state quickly and easily.
Data protection with snapshots
System snapshots record the state of the storage, including metadata, at a specific time. This method protects files from the effects of malicious ransomware. Block-based writing records only the changed data, significantly saving disk capacity. The device supports up to 256 snapshots for the entire system. In the event of a disaster, users can restore the entire volume or selected folders.
Cloud integration
The HybridMount and VJBOD Cloud storage gateways create a hybrid environment. Local cache memory on the NAS reduces access latency to cloud services. Users can work with cloud files just as quickly as with local data. This approach saves internet bandwidth. The system supports integration with common cloud storage providers.
Photo management with artificial intelligence
The QuMagie application uses algorithms for face and object recognition. The system automatically sorts photos into organised albums by people, places and things. Advanced filters and a timeline make it easy to search for pictures. Users can easily share albums with family or colleagues. The system also supports viewing Live Photos from iOS devices.
