Raiders of the Lost Ark
When a sorceress crosses paths with a demon, it never means anything good.
Risa Hawksmoor has just started at Surmit University, and her goal is to keep a low profile. However, as a talented and capable rune sorceress from a famous family, she attracts unwanted attention and countless problems. In her first week, she manages to eliminate a powerful demon, make a mortal enemy among the elves, and meet the attractive bartender Zack and the mysterious Damien. It is Damien who tries to recruit Risa for her abilities to join the Damned Hunters—a mercenary group that makes a living hunting non-humans. Risa is reluctant to join them, but what if her desire for adventure is stronger than she first thought? And what if feelings get involved too?

Proof that Czech fantasy has a lot to offer readers. Zuzana Hartmanová certainly holds her own alongside works of world fantasy.
— Children of the Night
Today they sat in a different spot than last time, but on the same floor. Risa smiled to herself when she recognised Zack behind the bar. She felt like she was finally seeing at least one friendly face—even though she had barely exchanged a few words with him. This time, his light hair wasn't tied back so tightly, and a stray lock occasionally fell onto his forehead. The black bartender's shirt hugged his chest and arms just like last time—which was a very pleasant sight.
“Let's grab a drink and then we'll dance. You're not getting out of it today,” Amanda decided. Risa didn't argue; she herself was determined to burn off some energy and frustration. The looks from some of the patrons, who clearly disapproved of her less-than-colourful and non-sparkly outfit, convinced her that she really needed to let off some steam tonight.
