The Synology DS225+ NAS tower serves as a centralised network storage solution for data management, sharing and backup in homes and small businesses. Powerful hardware
The network storage is powered by a quad-core Intel Celeron J4125 processor with a base clock of 2GHz. The 2GB DDR4 non-ECC system memory provides performance for handling tasks. Private cloud storage
The DiskStation Manager operating system provides an interface for managing and accessing stored data from any device. Users can access their files via mobile apps, desktop clients, or a web browser. Version control makes it easy to restore previously deleted files or recover data corrupted by malware. Integrated tools make it easy to organise photos and videos into albums that can be securely shared via links.
Work teams
The platform includes tools for increased productivity and real-time collaboration. Teams can edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations together directly on the storage. The system includes the ability to run a local email server with full control over your data. The Synology Chat communication app supports secure conversations, public and private channels, and group chats for efficient information exchange.
Server and cloud synchronisation
The Drive ShareSync service performs one-way or two-way data synchronisation between multiple Synology devices at different branches. Frequently used files are stored locally. Conversely, less frequently used data remains in the cloud, which saves local disk space. The system supports automatic synchronisation with public clouds such as Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox or BackBlaze B2.
Secure backup
Active Backup for Business unifies backups for PCs, physical servers, virtual machines and cloud applications like Microsoft 365. Users can set up backup schedules according to the 3-2-1 rule for data security. Protection for shared folders and LUNs works using immutable snapshots that prevent unauthorised data tampering.
Professional surveillance centre
The Surveillance Station application creates a surveillance centre with support for up to 25 IP cameras. The system includes tools for live monitoring, motion detection, playback of recordings, and licence management. Users can use dual recording to cloud storage in case of physical damage to the local device. Centralised management helps to supervise multiple Synology servers from a single interface.
