The Breath of a Butterfly

The Dove House becomes a silent witness
to fragile hopes, illusions, and inevitable falls.

Pilsen, 1928. After selling her family home, painter Magdaléna Brousková becomes a tenant in her own studio, which now belongs to the charismatic lawyer Šimon Prorok. Their meeting soon blossoms into deep affection. It seems that the delicate artist, nicknamed Spindle-shank, has finally found the happiness she has always longed for.

However, dark shadows begin to mar the idyll in the luxurious villa on Klatovská Avenue. Magdaléna faces attacks from an unknown stalker and mysterious health problems that threaten both her and the life of her unborn child. In the silence of the Dove House, an invisible web of morbid obsession is being spun, its roots reaching far deeper than anyone can imagine. Who can Magdaléna trust? And where is the line between love and hate?

The Butterfly's Breath is a chilling story of fatal jealousy that knows no bounds, and of the fragility of the human soul. Will Magdaléna finally find firm ground beneath her feet, or will she, like a trapped butterfly, beat herself against a windowpane in a simple desire for freedom?
