The Lost Story

In West Virginia, in the Red Crow Forest, two fourteen-year-old boys and best friends go missing. For six whole months, despite extensive search efforts, no one can find them. Everyone but their families writes them off, but after half a year, the pair miraculously reappears. Raf, however, is suffering from memory loss, and Jeremy claims they simply survived in the forest.

And while Raf is kept in hospital for observation due to his amnesia, Jeremy's mother flies with her son to her parents in England and is never seen in the small town again.

Raf feels betrayed and tries to contact Jeremy several times, but Jeremy refuses any contact.

The years go by and both boys grow up. Jeremy becomes world-famous for his special ability to find missing girls. This is why, fifteen years after his return from the Red Crow Forest, he is sought out by Emilie, who wants to ask him to find her long-missing stepsister – dead or alive.

Jeremy is reluctant at first, but he eventually takes the job and declares that Emilie's sister is fine and living in the Red Crow Forest. However, for the expedition to be successful, Raf must also join them, and given that Jeremy has been avoiding him for the last fifteen years, that won't be easy.
