Thin ice

Henry Stone is growing up in a world where he does not belong. In the junior team dressing room, he is nothing more than the coach's son, a nobody, a loser and an outcast with zero respect from either his teammates or his own father. His only sanctuary is painting – the one space where he can exist without fearing ridicule.

On the other side stands Leonardo Thompson, captain of the New Jersey Phantoms and a player with a preordained future. He is admired, talented and seemingly untouchable. An unexpected encounter in the dressing room sparks tension that culminates in an impulsive kiss after a lost game. What is meant to be a one-off escape with no strings attached soon turns into a secret relationship that begins to chip away at Leonardo's confidence and self-image.

They both promise to keep feelings out of it, but those very feelings gradually become the greatest threat of all.

Leonardo fights an increasingly desperate battle between who he is supposed to be and who he really is. Fear of losing respect, his future and his career forces him to hide Henry like a dirty secret, even from those closest to him. Meanwhile, Henry watches as loving someone who is ashamed of him slowly destroys him. Suspicion mounts, and sooner or later, the truth is bound to come out.
